WiP Wednesday 6/9

Progress report time!  Yay.  *eyeroll*

Erm, well, uh.

Okay, here's the deal.

I went out of town.  And my writing suffered.  It suffered even before I left town.  There was so much to get done in the two days I had off work before I went away and writing time just got sucked away.

I did, however, manage to still write 4,132 words, thanks to a couple of really big days that sort of made up for the small days the rest of the week.  (Like 0 words yesterday.  This week will be better.  I promise.)

That's pretty much all there is to report.  My hero is in the middle of his next death-defying activity.  Will he survive?  If he does, how maimed will he become?  These are questions I shall leave you pondering, my friends.

How are your WiPs going?

  1. Hope you had fun on your trip! We all need some R&R to revive the brain cells. LOL Or maybe that's just me!

Hope your hero tackles his adversity with ease! Best wishes for him to survive with few scars to show for it. :)

Best wishes for tons of productivity. I might be heading for the coast this weekend. I'm taking my mini PC with every intention of getting some words on the page! We'll see what happens.*wink wink*

  2. I just finished on Sunday and am now taking a break for a week before I dive back into revisions. I know what you mean about consistency in word counts; I've written about that on my blog before as well. Although I don't even have the out of town excuse.

  3. Ha, I laughed out loud at "if he does, how maimed will he become?"
Just because that's how I am with my characters too. I weigh each dangerous activity in my mind and try to decide how much pain/lack of pain I can get away with. :)
    My poor characters.
    (mwahaha!)
My WIPs are... well, going. Slowly. *sigh* hopefully I'll get reinspired soon and pick up the pace. In the meantime, I'm slugging along. (is that a word? I think so, but my brain is slightly fried today. Alas!)

  4. I sooooooooooooooooo understand your feeling Stephenie as I too was out of town. Back with family in North Yorkshire for half term and to escape pesky students *librarian grumble*. I did leave with best intentions as I did bring my notebook and latest short story with me but family life is never quiet enough for me to get anything done.

Plus I'm usually so tired after work during the week all i want to do is sit in front of TV or stick my nose in a good book. Ironically I am finding I'm reading a hell of a lot more than I'm writing. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Maybe i'll be tough on myself and turn down the offer of the weekend at partner's parents and stick myself in front of PC all weekend until I've finished Chap 4. Yeah sounds like a plan.

*fingers crossed I don't become a lazy sausage*

  5. I've been working on a query letter instead. A yucky but necessary part of writing. I almost have it done. Work, track meets for my daughter, and other distractions have made it hard to write much since last weekend. Hoping to be productive again starting Saturday.
