Universe vs. Writing Hiatus

Never tell anyone, even the empty air around you, you're going to take a hiatus from writing.

It's just a big fat dare to the universe to get in the way of your plans. But fortunately, there're notebook paper and a voice recorder to capture those ideas the universe throws at you so that when you come back from your hiatus you can hit the ground running.

If you're stuck for ideas, tell the universe you're taking a break from writing. Almost guaranteed something will pop up to tempt you.

Oh, look, a big bag of Swedish fish! *runs off distracted*

If you have a question you're dying to ask me, something you want me to address either here on my site or over at the Dojo, send it to info(at)stephanie-mcgee(dot)com

  1. sort of like Murphy's law ... or why you should always knock on wood so you don't jinx yourself ... just don't say anything aloud I guess :)

  2. LOL, this has happened to me. I've kept telling myself I won't start another book until spring, and guess what I'm starting to do?
