Update Tuesday 1/22-1/28

Whew. Where did January go?

As for updates and such.  Well, after a good brainstorming session with a close writer friend, I had some ideas for a new opening to the current revision WiP.  After that, I took to my revision outline and got it all ready to go for the next round of revisions.  As of Saturday night I hadn't started on those revisions but I at least had a game plan.

I procrastinated revisions in favor of finishing the maps for a new fantasy world I'm creating.  One for which I have the nugget of a story idea.  I got the maps done and printed and put into a shiny new project binder.  The rest of the world-building will have to be done after I've finished the revisions to Woven.

In the meantime, the muse is running double time and I now have ideas stewing for a sequel trilogy to Woven, a second trilogy set in the same fantasy world as Woven, and 6 or 7 novellas that are prequels to the trilogy of which Woven is the first volume.

Like I said, overdrive.

How are your WiPs going?

  1. My WIP is finally taking shape. Every time I've restarted it, I thought I was getting better, but it wasn't, I was just changing it. Now I know the imporatance of having writer friends to help you better your WIP.

I'm glad you got ideas from your friends!

    1. Input from trusted creatives is invaluable. It took me a long time to find one and I'm so grateful I finally did. Glad to hear your WiP is going well!

  2. You're wise to take a break from revisions and channel those ideas, so all will come together. Perfect! My WIP's coming along, but this spring-like weather is trying to pull me outside...hmmm!

    1. It's sort of coming together. I've started on revisions, but yeah. Is it spring yet? Can it be spring yet? Write outside. That's what notebooks and laptops are for, right? Glad to hear your WiPs going well.

  3. Yes, it does sound like your muse is in overdrive! I'm happy to say that, after two months of being stuck, as in stuck in quicksand stuck, I've been able to move forward this week. I'm so excited. I was beginning to think I'd be stuck forever.
