WiP Wednesday 3/9

So, yeah.

That whole query thing?  Not likely to happen this month.  I'm still going to work to get the submissions materials all together and going, but there's been a slight hitch in the plan.

You see, I'm not so sure that the book as it stands is what I want as a representation of me.

That said, I'm going to launch into a major revision of certain elements of the book.  It means I'll lose a lot of words.  Those are words that will have to be added back in new ways.  Which will take time.  This isn't a revision I can pound out in a week.  It might take two weeks.  Or even three.

But I think it'll be worth it.

Also, if you haven't noticed, I've officially decided on a new title for my book.

It's now called:

When the Star Fell

How are your WiPs going?

  1. Hi! I am a new follower of yours. Kudos to you for biting the bullet and doing some hard revisions that you feel will make your work stronger. I am a brand-new writer just beginning my first novel (not exactly sure the genre, but paranormal romance seems to fit - not YA). I am probably to about 4000 words or so. It's all still a little scary and new, but I'm trying :).

  2. Good for you! It has to be a strong novel to stand out in today's tight market, so the extra months of work will really help your chances. :) Good luck and best wishes for revising!

  3. I've been rewriting for, like, ever, and it's still nowhere near good. Blech. SO frustrating sometimes. Yet, I just gotta get in there and do the revising. It DOES get better each time. One of these days it'll be ready to go, LOL!

Good luck with your project! As tough as it is to wait, I think it's good that you're making it the best it can be.

  4. Ah, scary! But I have to say good for you for having the courage to do this. And great new title!

My WIP is out to betas right now and I'm reading it out loud to my hubby. I'm hopeful that after some cleaning up I'll be able to start querying by the end of the month ~ but of course, it's also entirely possible it'll come back from my betas needed huge edits. But for now, I'm choosing to be hopeful!

  5. Good luck with revisions! I just started revisions on my very first novel, and I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to go about it.
