WiP Wednesday 4/14

Well, it's that time again.  Time for me to face the music and admit whether I accomplished anything this past week.

*sounds of a funeral dirge begin to ring through the air*

Um, guys?  *looks to the soundbooth*  Wrong tape!  You're supposed to be playing "Fanfare for the Common Man!"  (Boy does that bring back memories.)

Anyways.

I've actually made a bit of progress this week.  I'm over 25,000 words into the story and I really feel like it's coming along nicely.  I'm excited to finish this and do some minor tweaks to it prior to sending it to betas.  Hopefully that will come in a couple of months from now.

Guys, I really feel like this could be the first manuscript I carry all the way.  And that's an exciting feeling.

I've moved both the internal and external conflict forward in a very nice direction.  The stakes are continuing to be upped and the triangle is developing well.

I'm loving this journey.  Most times, it doesn't feel like work when I'm writing this manuscript.  And that's a feeling that's kind of got me worried.

How are your WiPs coming along?

  1. I'm happy that you're feeling so great about your manuscript!!! It's a wonderful feeling to have the confidence you've been looking for in a story! I hope it's the one for you!!

My MS is going strong I just started my revisions and though I was having a rough start after some ice cream and a good chick flick the words were flowing!! It's funny because I write YA fantasy so how that did the trick I don't know but I'm thankful!!

  7. Yay! I'm so happy for you and your progress.

I'm currently discovering that there is always something more to tweak. I'm going to have to tell myself to walk away pretty soon, or I'll never get around to the next stage of things.

  8. Yay, Stephanie! You can do it!

I'm waiting on beta readers and CPs for their input on my proposal and then off it goes, gulp, to the editor.

  9. Thanks, Jen. Glad to hear your MS is going well. Ice cream always helps. I think it's the sugar rush.

Thanks, Cynthia! Good luck! I'm sure it'll be great!

  10. Love your blog. I've almost completed the first draft of one WIP thanks to the 50,000/50 challenge. It gave me the boost needed.
