WiP Wednesdays 10/21

I was in full procrastination mode this week, in case you couldn't tell.  I redecorated over here a couple of times in the process.  And it's clear that I'm a black and white girl.  I tried the color thing, but I just couldn't get the text colors right.

What's that?  Oh, you want me to get on with the actual real content?

Tough.  You're getting something else first.

I got my acceptance e-mail last night.  It's officially official that I'm both insane and going back to school.

So that's that.  Now on to business.

I wrote out the history that I'd been needing to write for the last 3 weeks.  Finally.  That happened Monday night.  Then Tuesday I spent doing other things like falling asleep and I really am not sure what else.

Oh yeah, I wrote for the first time in 3 weeks.  Only 592.  But still, I wrote!  Tomorrow can only get better.  But I've got 70-something days to finish Lodestar and Oracles Promise.  Because that's when my school starts up again.  And I'll be working on the days I don't have school, trying to fit homework in between that, and then trying to stay sane.  But it'll be a good insanity.

So that's it for status updates.  How is everyone else doing with their projects?

  1. I think any words are progress. And it must feel good to have the history done.

  2. Congrats on your acceptance! And I agree with Susan: any words are good words :)

  3. Congrats on being accepted and for your wip progress. Wow, you are going to to be busy! Nothing like a little pressure though to get things moving :) I tend to work best when I have a deadline looming.

  4. Congrats on getting in! :) And you've written more words than me this week, so be proud of what you got on the page.

And I wonder if we can tell when a writer is going through a lull when the layout of their blog starts changing. I redid mine while I was struggling to come up with my next idea, lol.

  5. Congrats on the acceptance! And Roni's comment about blog layouts cracked me up.

Forward progress is forward progress. Also, you wrote out the history and, since it was the first time writing in three weeks, reentered your novel. Reentering is harder than jumping in from the day before, so that's a bigger deal than your word count.

  6. Susan, the history was sort of the monkey on my back for three weeks or more so it is definitely nice to have it done.

    L.T., thanks.

Deb, thanks. We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping to get both projects done at least in first draft form before school starts so I can just focus on school and work on revisions whenever I have the chance.

Roni, thanks. There might be some truth to that about the blog layout and design. It'd be interesting to see if it really is the case.

Thanks, Dawn. Very true about re-entering after weeks being harder than day-to-day.

  7. Hey, that's awesome you wrote that much! It's hard jumping back in when you havne't written in a while.

  8. Thanks, Jennifer. I love blogging if only for the support group!

  9. Good for you. I have one completed book no being edited. Yeah me :)

  10. Definitely any number of words is better than none. And congrats on school!

  11. Good luck with your edits, Tabitha!

    Thanks, Jill!
