It's official

I'm insane.  iminsaneiminsaneiminsaneiminsane

Do I need to say it any more times?

I'm insane.

I'm going back to school.

Because, you know, two college degrees aren't enough.

This is really gonna put a crimp on my writing time and such.  But it won't happen until January.  (If I get in at all.)  I know it's been said we shouldn't talk about rejections on our blogs.  But this isn't the type of rejection that I have to avoid speaking of.  I really don't think I'll not get in, but you never know.  They might look at my transcripts and such and be all, "You've got two degrees.  No, we can't let you in.  You're on your own."  You never know.

But, yeah, that's the plan right now.  I'll be hopefully getting a bachelor's degree in art and visual communication.  So I'll be taking drawing classes, photography classes, and learning all about typography and such things as go into the design of a book.  Well, my emphasis will be on graphic design.  So it'll be fun.  I'm really excited about the prospect.

Now I just need to get Oracles Promise and  Lodestar finished before I go back to school.

  1. WOW! You are an amazing woman to tackle all of your dreams in one shot.

It makes me squeal to even think of homework other than my WIP.

What are your other degrees in? Do you plan on spinning past writing and jumping into the publishing side of things?

Well I am praying for you, and I am super excited to see where this journey leads you!

  2. Coming from someone who has a masters in social work, a professional in human resources certification, is alternatively certified to teach middle/high school, and is currently doing none of those, I understand.

    Good luck!

  3. Thanks, Tamika. I have a BA in Humanities and an MS in English. I really do want to work in publishing, but that wasn't always the goal. I will do an internship or two while I'm in school this go-around and hopefully upon graduation I'll be able to get into the industry. I'm also really excited about this program. It's everything I wanted to learn in high school and as an undergraduate but never could because of prerequisites and such.

    Thanks, Roni.

I'll know if I got in within the next two days. That's how fast their turnaround is. Scary, huh?

  4. Best of luck Stephanie :)

I have my fingers crossed for you!

  5. I think it sounds exciting! Good luck!

  6. Hey you redecorated! I like it. And wow, your new plan sounds exciting too. Keep us posted!

  7. I did redecorate. Glad you like it. It may not stay, we'll see how it goes. Thanks, Deb. I'll totally let you all know when I know anything.

  8. Wow, Stephanie, that's great! I don't think there's such a thing as too much learning. Good luck with that! Love the new look around here and yay! You're not anonymous anymore ;D

  9. Good luck!

I used to say that if I could do anything when I grew up I would be a professional student. A teacher is close, but I'm all about adding more degrees to your belt. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

  10. Thanks, Windy. I totally agree with that sentiment.

Thanks, Stephanie. I think I am becoming a professional student. But I wouldn't trade my degrees for anything.
