I'm still trying to decide on the timing of it, but I do feel that I need to not be deceptive in my advertising and that I need to associate my real identity with this blog. I don't know how I'm going to do that or what it's going to take exactly, but I would appreciate suggestions for it.
And just think, it'll be easier for me to plug my own work when it eventually gets published if you already know who I am and you aren't having to say, "Is she really the author of this book?"
You don't have to reveal the real you 1) unless you want to, or 2) until you have a book out.
ReplyDeleteHope you have the good fortune for it to be option 2, and soon. :)
Thanks for the input. It is something I'm struggling with.
ReplyDeleteI have had huge issues with this very thing. I recently revealed my real life identity. I chose the name Strange Fiction as a play on my real name and then, thinking that it looked somewhat freakish...I came clean and attached my actual name to my blog. I still want to take my name offline every single day.. Tough one. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice!
ReplyDeleteHave you considered writing under a pseudonym?
ReplyDeleteI have considered a pseudonym. It wouldn't work so much for my poetry projects, unless I changed names in the poems, but it could very well work for my fiction writing. I'm still trying to decide on that one.
